Flushed with their previous successes at The Rosemary Branch and Buxton Festival, Charles Court Opera mothball their Mikado costumes and get to grips with ghostly ancestors, haunted castles and other suitably seasonal phenomena with a new production of G & S's 1887 hit, Ruddigore.

And to reassure the faint hearted, we welcome back yet more unimaginable silliness on board the quarterdeck of HMS Pinafore, with a crew of impeccably English chaps and chapesses (no need to mention poor little Buttercup).
