The Rosemary Branch The Rosemary Branch

Theatre of Relativity presents

Feelgood

by Alistair Beaton
Directed by George Maddocks

A damning tale of a government run by image gurus and spin-doctors, Alistair Beaton’s world-acclaimed political satire opens a door on the New Labour administration as it tries, in the midst of faltering public opinion, to prolong its post-election honeymoon at the 2001 party conference.

It is the night before the big speech and the PM’s team of PR experts and speechwriters argue over every last comma and full stop. Outside the window anti-capitalism riots rage, the deputy PM's train has broken down, the delegates are saying what the hell they like, a scandal which threatens to bring the government to its knees has reared its genetically modified head, and someone’s polished off the last of the PM’s Pinot Grigio. Things can only get better.

With Timothy Bell, Rafe Beckley, James Maclaren, Michael Gabe, Antonia Windsor and Amelia Saberwal.
