This
delightful and informative one woman show brings to life the remarkable
life and travels of Jamaican nurse Mary Seacole, whose healing hands
and herbal remedies helped so many soldiers during the Crimean War.
It is particularly suitable for family audiences and has already
been successfully performed at The National Portrait Gallery The
Museum of London, and The Florence Nightingale Museum.
Cleo Sylvestre first shot to fame as a young actress playing opposite
Alec Guinness in the West End, her career has since taken her to
The Young Vic, The National Theatre and numerous TV appearances.
In 2001 she starred in Vagabondia directed by Isaac
Julien which was shortlisted for The Turner Prize and was most recently
seen at The Almeida in Antony Sher's play, I.D.
