Singer Monica Acosta and Pianist Julia Kalnobricka present an evening of tango songs from greats such as Astor Piazzolla and Carlos Gardel.

Julia Kalnobricka - Piano
Julia was born in Riga, Latvia and has been living in London since 2006. She graduated from Emils Darzins Music College in 2004 and has completed a 2 year course at the Latvian Music Academy specializing as a pianist/accompanist. Julia has participated in both regional and international piano and chamber music competitions. In London, Julia is studying at London College of Music and Media. She is also a member of The Worshipful Company of Musicians of London and received a Silver Medal Award in November 2006. Julia also works and an accompanist at London Junior College of Music and at Thames Valley University.

Monica Aosta - Voice
Monica was born in Colombia. Since moving to London, she has sung for opera companies, classical music choruses, orchestras and ensembles and has been a member of contemporary classical groups and Hispanic and Latin folk groups. Monica's interest in tango songs goes back to the time she lived in her native Colombia. In establishing TangoDuo, Monica goes back to her Latin-American roots singing in her native language. She has performed and many venues and festivals including The Spritz, Cargo, Glastonbury 2003, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican, London Coliseum ENO, and the British Library.
